My 10 year old son wants to do a 100k ride for charity. We are going to do 50k one afternoon and then another 50k the following morning. He has a road bike (as I do). Does anyone know a safe route we could take on a road bike which would suit his plans? We live in South West Manchester (Chorlton) and don't want to travel very far to start the cycle.

Mancqueen, have a look at the Wythenshawe Loop ride in the listings. A friend of mine has done it as part of the Manchester 100 and says the route is quite quiet along lanes through Nantwich and Middlewich.
