Cycle Steps
Facing Abbey Gate, turn right & follow one way system around to come past theatre. Keep heading this way out of town. There are rolling gradients from here, especially up Suffolk's steepest hill, in Hartest. More hills from here through to Rede. Hills again and then some relief until south of Stowmarket at Nedging Tye. After Stowmarket, there is a flat run back to Bury St Edmunds. A challenging ride covering the best of hilly terrain that Suffolk has to offer, all on good roads suitable for road bikes.

This is definitely one of the more challenging routes I have done in Suffolk. Plenty of challenging hills. I am cycling Lands End to John O Groats this year so this is definitely good practice for someone who lives in Suffolk which is pretty flat to the rest of the UK!

Enjoyed this ride despite it raining throughout the entire bike ride. Some delightful villages. Thanks for putting this together.
