Once in, running along side the road on the right hand side is a path, head on to that. The path will lead through some industrial units.
When passing McConechy's Tyre & Exhaust Centres on your left handside the path turns 90 degrees to the right.

You can miss out the section on Glasgow Road by going straight on from Markethill Road at the junction with Cairnmuir Road (where the main road goes right and there's a side road to the left) and onto a path. Follow the path off to the right (see aerial photos), then it becomes a farm track. Keep following it past the farm and it leads to Cathkin Road.
