Cycle Steps
Leave car park and turn right at roundabout (3rd exit) onto Wellhall Road. After 100m go through the next roundabout, and right at next, onto Hillhouse Rd. Go through the next 3 roundabouts, and at 4th (large H for industrial estate) turn right, onto the B758 and go under the A725 bridge. Follow the A725 into High Blantyre and at the traffic lights, (Carrigan's Bar) turn left onto the B7012. Follow the signs for Dalton/Cathkin and cycle signs.
Continue uphill until the road levels off, then turn right (at no entry sign) across the carriageway. Turn left onto Stoneymeadow Road, and follow this as it zig-zags past the Kennels. At the next right hand turn off, (Couple of cottages), go right, still following the cycle signs. This takes you up a short hill. Take the first left (For a shorter route continue on untill you come to the A724 and turn left at kennel sign and pick up the route in Flemington). Having taken the left, the road rises and dips a few times. Not Long after the radio masts, take either the 1st (into Turnlaw Road) or the 2nd on right (which brings you back to Turnlaw Road, where you turn left). On Turnlaw Road, go down past Kirkhill Golf Coarse. Keep left, follow sign "LOCAL ACCESS, BIKES." There is then a downhill run to a junction where you go right onto East Greenlees Road. Follow this through the roundabout, then go right at hte junction onto Cairns Road/ Gilbertfield Rd. Take 4th road on left, into Letterickhills Crescent, then right onto Lightbburn Road, and continue until meet the A724 and turn left. At the roundabout take a right onto Roomebay Crescent. Go through 3 roundabouts and take a left at the next onto Village Road. At the next roundabout take a right onto Boulzie Hill Place. This will take you under Newton Rail Station. Turn right at roundabout into Westburn Road andf follow the NCN75 towards Uddingston. Once over the River Clyde, go right and after a few yards take a left into Ferry Road. Follow the road as it takes a sharp right turn, and take a left into Crowflats Road. Take a left into Lady Isle Crescent and follow this to the roundabout. At the roundabout go right onto Old Glasgow Road. Take the 3rd exit on the right into Castle Avenue. Stay on Castle Avenue, passing Bothwell Castle. When you eventually come to the T-junction, go right into Blantyre Road. At the junction go right into Blantyre Mill Road, heading for the David Livingstone Centre. Cross the bridge over the River Clyde and go left, past the David Livingstone Centre onto Station Road. Follow this past Blantyre Rail Station and on till the junction. At the junction, with traffic lights, go right onto Glasgow Road, then left at next set of lights onto Stonefield Rd. Follow this as it becomes Stonefield Crescent and turns a couple of time to the junction. At the T-junction with Hunthill Road, B758, turn left. This will take you back to the traffic lights at Carrigan's Bar, B7012. Take a left then sharp right onto the B758 and go back to Hamilton Industrial Estate and back to Aldi's.
