HIGHER BEBINGTON > THORNTON HOUGH
From Broadway roundabout (Higher Bebington), head up Broadway and at the end turn right on Mount Road, before quickly taking another left on to Levers Causeway. Travel all the way down Levers Causeway (there should be a new cycle path on the right hand side) until you come across a small roundabout; Here take the first exit (left) up Red Hill Road. After around 0.3 Miles, turn right down Brimstage Lane (2nd right after the roundabout). Head all the way down this road (around 1 mile in total)where you will reach Brimstage Road. Here you will pick up signs for cycle route 56 towards Thornton Hough, which you should follow. After 0.3 miles, take the first left down Talbot Avenue (route 56 should still be sign posted). At the end of Talbot Avenue, take a left down Manor Road, still following the signs. Travel down Manor Road for 0.8 miles until you reach Thornton Hough Village.

THORNTON HOUGH > PARKGATE
At the end of Manor Road, turn right down Neston Road, now following cycle route 56 signs to Neston. Travel down Neston Road for 0.5 miles until you reach Thornton Hall where you should turn right down Parkgate Lane. Travel down the whole of Parkgate Lane (0.5 miles in total) before turning right on to Chester High Road. Here take an immediate left down The Runnel, following route 56 signs to Parkgate.Travel down The Runnel for 0.6 miles before turning RIGHT down Leighton Road, continuing to follow the route 56 signs. At the end of Leighton Road, turn left on to Boathouse Lane, following the signs to Parkgate. Continue down Boathouse Road, where you will come to the marshes at Parkgate.

PARKGATE > HOOTON
Travel along the marsh front all the way round and follow the road back inland left past the Old Quay pub (around 1.5 miles in total). Immediately after you pass Neston Cricket Club, turn right at a sign saying 'Wirral Country Park' going back on to route 56. Travel down this route until you come out at Station Road where you should turn right.Follow this road all the way to the end where you should see route 56 carries on straight ahead. This route will take you all the way to Hooton train station (around 3.6 miles in total).

HOOTON > EASTHAM
At the end of the route, turn right down Hooton Road (towards the train station) and follow this road all the way to the end (around 1 mile). Here you should turn left onto the A41, using the footpath on the left hand side. Follow this until you reach a roundabout. Using the footpath around the outside, take the 2nd exit (this exit should have a travelodge immediately after)and travel down here for 0.3 miles before taking the first right down Eastham Village Road, following signs for Eastham Country Park. Travel down this road for 0.5 miles before turning down Ferry Road, following the blue cycle signs. Travel down this road all the way to Eastham country park where you will come across a small roundabout where you should turn right through a thin car park for the country park

EASTHAM > PORT SUNLIGHT
Once you've entered the smaller car park, ride to the end where you should find a trail. At the end of the trail you can either turn left or carry on straight ahead as both finish just up the road at a roundabout at the bottom of Plantation Road. At this roundabout, follow the cycle route sign to Port Sunlight Station, along the designated cycle road. After you pass the back of Bromborough Croft Retail Park, the cycle road will leave the main road going off to the right which you should follow. This cycle road will take you all the way to Port Sunlight (around 1.5 miles in total).

PORT SUNLIGHT > HIGHER BEBINGTON
At the end of the cycle path you will come out at a car park behind the Gladstone Theatre. Come out of the car park and turn right on to Greendale Road, before turning immediately right again and going under a bridge you have just traveled across. This will bring you out at the bottom of Quarry Road East, by the entrance to Unilever. Travel up the cycle path that is on Quarry Road East, before taking the 2nd right down St Andrews Road. Follow this road all the way to the end, where you will turn right on to Church Road. Soon after, where Church Road bends off to the right, go straight on down Highcroft Avenue. At the end of this road, take a right down Abbots Drive. When Abbots Drive bends off to the left, cut across the grass verge and down the road straight ahead (Pulford Road). Travel down this road all the way to the end (it will merge into Higher Bebington Road halfway down which you should carry on down) for 0.7 miles until you reach the end. Here, turn right down Teehey Lane, which you should travel down for 0.5 miles until you reach a roundabout which is back where you started.
