Cycle Steps
A nice training circuit of circa 18 miles on mainly quiet country lanes. It is fairly flat, with a couple of inclines and perhaps two hills of note that will make you puff a little, but nothing too strenous. Pleasant route on a summer's evening. I use it as a time trial type circuit to gauge my fitness/condition.
Leave Hook via Newnham Road, turn right at Newnham towards Rotherwick past Tylney Hall Hotel. Head towards Mattingley and join Reading Road. Turn towards Hartley Wintney shortly after Leather Bottle pub. In Hartley Wintney head towards Fleet and then turn off onto Church Lane (signposted Internet Car Showroom) and head towards Winchfield. At next junction turn right and then next left towards Odiham. As you approach Odiham and A287 look for the path before the cattle grid that takes you under the A287 and into the village avoiding the busy bypass. Ride through the village and out towards Greywell/Up Nately. Turn right in Up Nately and cross over M3 towards Newnham to complete the circuit.
