This route is great way to go from Littlehampton to Chi seeing some great countryside. BUT it takes you across fields.

LIttlehampton follow old road to Climping then road to Yapton and back down to Middleton.
Use the back roads through Middleton heading towards Bognor Sea Front. Along sea front past the pier, if you follow the road you have to turn left in a few hundred yards and again along the sea front.

Follow this road to Nyetimer Lane you are are looking for Summer Lane

Follow summer lane when it takes a sharp right with what looks like industiral unit in front turn left, off road 100 yds to bridge.

Over small bridge keep left and follow the side of the field (well marked) After 10 mins it comes out on rvery quiet road turn right and follow. Road wanders past some houses but eventually opens up with the Downs in the background follow road around to left. At the next junction tun left and within 100 yds there is a drive way to a house - keep to the right hand side this is a public right of way. With the newly planted trees to the left and the house behind you will see a small gao in the fence which leads to open fields.

Again follow the path acroos the fields until it pops out in Hunston turn right and make your way along the road to the start of the canal.

Then just follow the pathway by the side of the canal all the way into Chichester Canal Basin - where it is time for tea!
