From Lympstone this follows the Exe Estuary Trail, Exmouth to Budleigh cycle path, and Budleigh to Otterton route (all largely off-road). It then skirts to the north of Woodbury Common avoiding the worst of the hills, back to Woodbury and Lympstone.

Much of the route is on NCN2. Lots of pubs, shops etc in the towns and villages.

Really nice ride this, nice downhill from the common and you can do a loop around the trails in the common if you have a bit of extra time. Stopping at Otterton mill is nice for a bit of a recharge and if you're lucky you'll see the resident kingfisher on the otter.

A really great bike ride, although I did it in a clockwise direction !
Can recommend leaving the Budleigh to Exmouth old railway track at Littleham, going down Maer Lane to the Seafront at Exmouth and picking up the Exmouth to Lympstone bike trail at Exmouth station.

Excellent route - assuming you don't get lost like I did and end up doing most of it on the main roads and having a slog up some big hills. I think I turned it into 30+ miles, but lots of fun all the same.

Maybe I'll buy a map
