Cycle Steps
Old St Mellons through the lanes to Lisvane, then onto Thornhill, to the cemetary and up Caerphilly mountain past the Traverller's rest. As you go down the incline, there is a old barn, turn off road and follow the track. It is 4 miles of off-road good fun and quite hard if you push it. Coming out at the Myenllwydd Inn you get back onto tarmac. From there head towards Drathen then onto Machen, to Bassleg, to Tredeger House, on the old A48 through to Old St Mellons.
Landmarks/Pubs for lunch/Sites to see?
Griffin Inn Lisvane, Traveller's Rest Caerphilly mountain, Myenllwydd Inn near Drathen, Tredeger House, a country house, then the Dragon Fly Pub A48. Great views from the top of the mountain ridge. Good hard ride, 2.5 hours at avarage 11.5 mph,

Go through back of tradegar park on the way to tradegar house for some more off roading. You could also take the old coast road back to st mellons for some extra km's.

I'm riding a lot around this area at the moment due to redundancy :( If you want some company on the route sometime let me know via the forum.
