| Cycle Steps |
| 1. 1. Leave stn car park and turn right.
2. At traffic lights, turn left onto A71.
3. Straight on at Oakbank r'abt.
4. Left at Lizzy Brice r'abt.
5. Take 1st slip onto Murieston E Rd.
6. Left onto Murieston Rd (under r'way bridge).
7. Left onto the lane that leads down to Harburn Golf Club.
8. 1st right towards the golf club.
9. Turn right onto B7008.
10. After golf club, turn left at x'roads.
11. Continue until reaching the T-junc then turn left towards Woolfords.
12. Continue thro' Woolfords and on to Auchengray. Note: The road surface is old and poor
for a distance until you get beyond Auchengray. Watch for holes!
13. On thro' Auchengray. After the sharp bend to the right descend to the r'way level
crossing.
14. Cross at the level crossing and continue to the T-junc with Carnwath Rd (B7016).
15. Turn left onto the B7016 and continue to the next T-junc.
16. Turn left at the T-junc onto A70 towards Carnwath.
17. Thro' Carnwath (there's a good bakers by the traffic lights) to the mini r'abt and turn
left onto the A70. The A70 is a fast leg if the wind is on your back!
18. Follow the A70 "Lang Whang" ("Long Way" in old Scots) until reaching the MOD airfield.
19. Turn left onto the B7031 and pass beside the airfield hangers and on into Kirknewton.
20. Cross the level crossing and turn right into the railway station car park to end the
ride back at the start position.
Total dist: 37 miles approx. Ride time: 2.5 hours approx.
