Cycle Steps
1. I use this as a nice training run/fitness run to blow out the cobwebs. This route starts off on Tarmac, as you head towards the Coast Road (A1058). Then turn off right and join the cycle paths/Waggonway route to Shiremoor and to Earsdon. Take the field/bridlepath to Holywell Dene, then back onto tarmac from Holywell to Seaton Delaval, Seaton Sluice and down towards Whitley Bay and St Marys Lighthouse. I normally stop here for a bit of juice and a nice look along the coast. Then head back to Whitley Bay and down The Links Road to Tynemouth and back to start. This is around 18 miles and usually takes around 1.5 hrs.
