1. Starting off in Dunfermline town center area, head down Lynburn Road and then left at roundabout, onto the B916, past the big Tesco until you reach the T-junction and entrance to Fordell Firs. Enter the forest and cycle down hill through the scout camp, for a short distance, until you vere slightly right, joining the down hill road on a fantastic wide cycle track. Go down the hill, then it's big up hill, before having to get off bike and walk over narrow bridge past Hill End Cemetary. Cycle into Dalgety Bay, past the train station on the A921, and at the roundabout turn right, past Asda and Dobbies. Then straight and straight again through the roundabouts, down hill, until you turn left to reach 'Dalgety Bay Sailing Club'. Enter and turn left, joining the Fife coastal path. Follow this fantasic and flat-ish route all the way to Aberdour where you come out at a lovely street, right near a couple of cosy pubs and shops.
Landmarks/Sites to see?
Big Asda at Dalgety Bay, if you require picnic stuff. Gorgeous scenery stops on the Fife coastal path. Brilliant views of bridges and Inchcolm Island, etc. In Aberdour there are cosy cafes, shops and pubs and plenty of sea shore. It's a lovely route!
