Cycle Steps
1. This is an excilerating road route, all on A roads, with some stiff hills, that takes in breathtaking loch and sea views. Head down the A82 to Corran, where you can enjoy a free ferry ride. This rest is needed before tackling some stiff hills, passing en-route the magnificently set Loch Sunart and Loch Moidart. This is merely the appetiser to being rewarded with sensational coastal views of Muck, Eigg and Rum. There is also some fantastic downhill cycling, prior to reaching the main road junction at Lochailort. At this point you have a number of options. You can wait for a train to Mallaig and start a new route. Go back on the train to Fort William, via Glenfinnan. Or, for the cycling fit, you can continue on the main road, A830, back to Fort William, via Glenfinnan, to complete the full circle. Completing the Fort William full circle is best savoured in clockwise rather than anti clockwise direction. Only for the cycling fit but the option of the train at Lochailort provides a get out for those who have used up their adrenalin reserves by then.
