Cycle Steps
1. Follow Hillmorton Road, A428, up to Ashlawn Road, turning left. Turn right off Ashlawn Road into Barby Lane. Follow this across the M45 to Barby where it becomes Daventry Road. Continue along this until the crossroads, where you turn right into Longdown Road. Follow this to the Daventry Road, A45, junction. Be careful when crossing the A45. across the A45 you enter Woolscott Road. Follow this until you see a small single track road on your left. Take this road and at the T junction, turn right and right again at the next T junction, on the edge of Sawbridge. Follow this road into Grandborough. In Grandborough, on Sawbridge Road, take a left turn and at the end of this turn right. At the T junction with Grandborough Fields Road, go to your left. Follow this to its end and at the T junction turn right. Continue on till the A426 junction and turn left. Following the A426 for a short distance to the first exit on the right, towards Leamington Hastings. Take this road through Leamington Hastings and follow the Birdingbury Road. At Birdingbury, take a right turn into Main Street and follow this over the river. Continue straight on as the road changes into Bourton Lane and further up into Birdingbury Road. At Bourton on Dunsmore go to the right towards Draycote Water. Cycle along one side of Draycote Water. After Draycote Water, take a left at the junction and cross the M45 once more. Continue on to the Coventry Road, B4429, junction, where you turn right. Follow the B4429 into Dunchurch, and at the crossroads, turn left onto Rugby Road, A426. Continue to the roundabout, where the A426 turns left and becomes Dunchurch Road. Follow this into Rugby and up to the one way system, where you have to go left on Russelheim Way, swing right onto Bilton Road, right again onto Warwick Street, and left onto Lawrence Sheriff Street, A428. Head across the crossroads, where the A428 becomes Hilmorton Road. Continue on this and take the second road to the left, Moultrie Road. Follow this to the junction with Church Street, B5414, which is back at the start point. Roads are good enough for racing bikes. Lots of places for panorama views of the countryside, where you can refuel while enjoying the landscape. There are also a number of tiny villages with local shops and benches, usually near the church.
