| 1. This is an undulating road route, using mainly A roads and country lanes, with no major hills, and where some parts are not in brilliant condition, but still offer a good ride.
The route uses the A689 to Rushyford, then Middridge Roads and Moor Lane towards Shildon. I detoured on a loop around the street I grew up in. Obviously you could miss this loop simply by turning left onto Middleridge Lane just outside of Shildon. The route then heads back out through Middridge, Aycliffe, Gt Sainton, Bishopton & Redmarshall villages, through Stockton and home. |
