Cycle Steps
1. The route starts through country lanes out to Stock, before heading towards Galleywood on the B1007. In Galleywood turn right into Watchhouse Road and head towards the A1114. At the A114 go right and under the A12 to Howe Green. Continue on this road to Battlesbridge, with its antique center and pubs. Turning left across the bridge the route follows country lanes to Hullbridge, where there is a bike shop in the middle of the village. Continue on out towards Ashingdon and Rochford. The route then heads towards Southend on the B1013, taking you past Southend Airport and to Cuckoo Corner. Head east towards Shoebury, on the A1159 and A13, but be warned that the traffic can be busy along this section. Turning right towards Shoebury, on the A1016, where the route heads along the esplanade all the way to Chalkwell and up to Leigh. Head back onto the A13 through Hadleigh, where the traffic is usually busy. Heading towards Basildon, the route heads through Bowers Gifford and North Benfleet, then past the industrial estate up Cranes Farm Road, A1235. You also pass the Basildon Festival Leisure Park. Turn right at the end of Cranes Farm Road and up Noak Hill, A176. At the top of the hill turn right past the Church and head back to the start point.
