Cycle Steps
1. This is a fun, road route, taking you along the main roads in and around the Lewisham and Greenwich area, via Catford and Kidbrooke. There are also a few hills, which could pose a small challenge. I quite often use this as a small training loop, at night, as its not that busy then and the roads are nice and smooth. I only recommend this route at night (after 8) or at other times when the traffic is low, as it does get very busy at times. Nice places on the way are the Thames Barrier and the War Museum in Kidbrooke. I would look out for a few crazy drivers on the downhills and the traffic lights that seem to pop-out from no-where. It very much suits a rider not bothered with traffic lights or traffic and who likes nice tarmac roads.
Landmarks/Sites to see?
Bike shops in Catford, Rushey Green Avenue and then in Woolwich on the High Street, quite hard to miss. Landmarks would consist of the Imperial War Museum, the Thames and the Thames Barrier. What it lacks in sights it gains in road surface quality.
