Cycle Steps
1. This is a pretty flat, mixed route, mainly on country roads, though there are some sharp bends to negotiate, and on a canal towpath. Be careful on the first part (A57). I am usually out early so not much traffic. Also the canal towpath can be a liitle bumpy but not bad. Head out on Shireoaks Common to the A57 roundabout. Turn left onto the A57 and follow it to the next roundabout. Turn right, off the A57 and onto Woodsetts Lane. Follow this as it takes a sharp left and then turn at the first right into Owday Lane. Follow this to the A60 T junction. Turn left onto the A60 and then the first right off again, into Wigthorne Lane. Follow this through Wigthorne and on till the T junction. Turn right into Tinker's Lane. Follow this to the B6045 T junction. Turn right onto the B6045 and then take the first left off again. Follow this country lane through Scofton and across the bridge over the canal. Swing right onto the canal towpath and follow the canal till you cross over a footbridge at the B6041. Follow the path up to the High Hoe Road, B6041, and cross over this and into Bracebridge. Head back over the canal on this and swing right back onto the canal towpath. Follow this until it joins up to Canal Road. Turn right onto Canal Road and continue to follow this along the side of the canal. The road then swings left away from the canal and comes to a junction. Turn right into Church Walk and go to the Bridge Place T junction. Turn left onto Bridge Place, B6040, and then first right on a pathway back to the canal towpath. Follow the towpath back to the start point. Nice little ride enjoy !!!
