Cycle Steps
1. This is a simple, relatively flat, road route, with a good cafe at the end. Head over the river, towards Preston, on Liverpool Road, A59. Swing left onto Strand Road, and go straight through the intersection on the A5072. Continue along West Strand to the A583 intersection. At the intersection turn right onto Water Lane, A583, then take the slip road left onto Tulketh Brow, B6241. Follow the B6241 under the A5085, straight through three roundabouts, and left at the fourth roundabout, off the B6241 and onto Tabley Lane, B5411, heading for Higher Bartle. Follow the B5411 through Higher Bartle, over the M56 and on through Woodplumpton. After Woodplumpton go straight on onto the B5269, then as it swings sharply left, take the turn off on the right, Hollowforth Lane, towards Eaves. Follow this road over the canal, then take the first left to go towards Cuddy Hill. Follow Eaves Lane towards Cuddy hill, then turn right onto Benson's lane to by pass Cuddy Hill. Continue on Benson's Lane as it turns sharp right and becomes Moss Lane. Go past the farmhouse and the two cottages and take the first left. Follow this to the T junction and turn right onto St Michaels Road. Follow this as it swings right, goes over the canal and ends at the A6 T junction. At the junction turn left onto the A6, heading towards Bilsborrow. Take the first right, before reaching Bilsborrow, onto Bilsborrow Lane. Follow this over the railway bridge and the M6, and on till the left hand turn off for Myerscough. Turn left, off Bilsborrow Lane onto Lydiate Lane, and follow this road through Myerscough, past Matshead and then left as it becomes Ducketts Lane. Contiue to follow the road as it becomes Lodge Road and runs parallel to the M6. The road then swings left, becomes Stubbins Lane, goes under the M6, over the railway bridge, and on till the B6430 T junction at Catterall. At the junction turn right onto Garstang Road, B6430, and follow this through Catterall and Bowgreave and into the one way system in Garstang. In Garstang the B6430 splits into a carraigeway as it approaches a roundabout. Turn left, off the B6430 and onto Croston Road, heading towards Cockerham. Go straight across the A6 multi-crossroads onto Cockerham Road, B5272, and follow the B5272 to Cockerham. In Cockerham go across the first part of the A588 carraigeway and turn right at the second onto the A588. Follow this to Upper Thumham. In Upper Thumham turn left, off the A588 onto Moss Lane. After the farm buildings, take the first right, heading towards Glasson Dock. Follow the road to the B5290 T junction. At the junction turn left onto Scotforth Road, B5290 and follow this into Glasson Dock.
