1. The is a road route, mainly on A and B roads, that has plenty of hills. The A roads, depending on time of day, are not too busy. The B roads are a pleasure, with plenty of good views and virtually no traffic. The route follows the B4114 towards Nuneaton. It then loops right at the roundabout, onto the A444 in Nuneaton, and follows it out towards Fenny Drayton, going left and right to cross the A5 on the way. Continue on the A444 to Sibson, then turn left towards Sheepy Parva. Turn left onto the B4116 and follow this through Sheepy Magna. Turn right, off the B4116 onto the B5000, and follow this past Poleworth and into the outskirts of Tamworth. At the fourth roundabout turn right onto Sheepcote Lane, then left at the T junction onto Florendine Street, right at the next T junction onto Amington/Tamworth Road, straight across the roundabout, across the river and then first right onto Shuttington Road, heading towards Shuttington. Go over the railway bridge and swing sharp right, the road goes sharp right and sharp left. As it turns sharp left, take the turn off to the right, taking you past the lakes on your left, on under the M42, and straight on until you reach the B5000 T junction. Turn left onto the B5000 and retrace the route through Sheepy Magna on the B4116, Sheepy Parva and Sibson, and the A444 towards Fenny Drayton. Just before entering Fenny Drayton, turn left, off the A444 and onto Fenn Lanes, heading towards Higham on the Hill. Take the third turn off on the right along Fenn Lane, where there is a small triangular grassy island. Follow this till the first turn off on the right where there is another triangular grassy island. Follow this road till the crossroads. Turn right onto Stoke Lane, and follow this to the mini-roundabout at the edge of Higham on the Hill. Turn right at the mini-roundabout onto Main Street and follow this through Higham to the T junction. At the junction turn left onto Nuneaton Lane, and follow this across the A5 roundabout back into Nuneaton. At the first mini-roundabout, turn left onto St Nicholas Park Drive, and follow this till the A47 T junction. At the junction turn left onto the A47 and then right at the roundabout onto Eastboro Way, A4254. Follow this over the railway bridge, straight through the Cremetorium roundabout, straight across the next roundabout, over another railway bridge and on till the B4114 roundabout. At the roundabout, turn left, off the A4254 and onto Highfield Road, B4114, and go back to the start point. For those of you who like a hill or two then the B5000 from Polsworth to Tamworth will make you happy, as well as a few of the climbs from the Pretty Pigs ( good Pub with gardens and food) and the lakes to the M42 bridge. The route detours through Higham on the hill as it is difficult to cross the A5 at the A444 junction after 16:30. onwards.
