Cycle Steps
1. Start off in the village of Langley Park just outside of the city of Durham and head out to Kayburn and Harvest petrol station on the roundabout. Turn left onto the A691 to Lanchester. At the church in Lanchester turn right and follow the road up the hill heading out of the village. Past Hall Hill Farm which is a great open farm which has allowed visitors to look around for 30 years and has won a number of awards. Through Satley and then turn right on the A68 taking you through Tow Law. At the 1st left next to the church at the top of the bank turn left taking you past Ridley's garage and out of the village and past the wind farm. Follow the road down and then through Cornsay Colliery and up the 14% bank and then turn right at the top taking you through Quebec and then up the bank to Esh. Follow the road all the way down through Bear Park ending at Nevilles Cross and turn left on the A167 and then turn right at the roundabout and then left at the next to take you past Durham College. Follow the road up the hill through Sacriston and Daisy Hill and take the 1st left in Edmondsley. When you get to Holmside turn left and then another left further on to take you through Burnhope. Left at the top of the bank taking you past some more windmills and then down to Kayburn and then back to Langley Park. Some nice hills to get climbing over and fast roads to give you a breather.
