As you approach the river there is a sharp right hand turn that is quite easy to miss take this turn and follow the path take a left (there is a signpost) turn under the railway bridge and then over river via the bridge. Follow the canal to Stanley Ferry. The route now just follows the canal towpath until you reach the long term mooring point bear left and cross the canal via the lock gates. Head back up on the opposite side of the canal go under the motorway bridge and carry on until you get to Foxholes Lane bridge go over the bridge and head back to Stanley Ferry.
