Cycle Steps
1. Run to the hills...starting off on the flats of the Fylde through Singleton > Thistleton > Elswick > Cossmoor > Inskip > Woodplumpton > Broughton > Goosnargh > Whittingham > Inclines start here... Longridge > Knowle Green > Hurst you can carry on straight or through left through Stonehurst, if you do this you go down hill for about a 1 mile and half - unreal speeds achieved. > Withgill > Clitheroe Castle. Lovely ride the hills really get your thighs and calves going. I recommend 5-6 hours for the ride so that you can get back comfortably. I did it in 4 with nothing left in the tank at the end, and lots of cramp. Drink plenty of fluids, preferably a performance drink to replaces salts lost. This will stop you looking like John Cleese by the side of the road trying to get rid of cramp (ministry of silly walks) This is not for a novice, it is arduous and would suit a experience rider. Some excellent views on the way, which allows you to break and take fluids on (highly recommended) and admire.
