Cycle Steps
1. This is a great route simply due to it's easy going straight no bends nature. It once belonged to British Rail but was abandoned in 1986 and later converted into a cycle path. It passes through several major parts of Liverpool and is a nice easy level cycle.
2. Starting on Park Lane heading South East, crossing over the railway and the A59, cycle off road for a little to join the top end of Roosevelt Drive.
3. Cycling down Roosevelt Drive, turn left and then first right on to Greenwich Road. When you see the bridge overhead turn off the pavement onto the lane leading up to the path that crosses back over the A59 and railway line.
4. When you cross the railway line, turn left and follow the path south staying on the same side of the railway until you can pass underneath it. This is the start of the Liverpool Loop Line.
5. The Loop Line makes up part of the Trans Pennine Trail route 62. There are plenty of places to come off the line if you fancy a bite to eat along the way.
6. 9 miles after the start of the line you will come to a fork in the path, left taking you to Halewood Station and right taking you to Hunt's Cross Station.
Landmarks/Sites to see?
Croxteth Park is close by, come off the path at Mill Lane access point. Plenty of abandoned stations too.
