Cycle Steps
1. Starting in Headingley, Leeds (North Leeds). Head for the ring road and then King Lane which heads out of the urban centre of Leeds and in to the countryside. You can't get a ride like this in Manchester or Liverpool but Leeds offers great countryside within just a few minutes on a bicycle. Once you reach Eccup reservoir there are bridal paths which go off-road and other country lanes to explore. There are gardens, loads of walking paths and other points of interest you can head too like the Emmerdale set. Head back down Eccup Lane and you will have a downhill stroll for about 90% of the return back in to Headingley but for a few small climbs which should only take a minute. Great to stretch the legs in the morning for a quick sprint out of the city if you're north of Leeds and a nice coast back to your home after reaching Eccup. You can also use the bike paths which are not on the actual roads but to the side, such as on Kings Lane there is a bike path 30 yards next to the estate which will make for safer riding on the busier sections.
