Cycle Steps
1. The route follows minor lanes as far as possible with a couple of Cycle paths (Ashford - Gt Chart underpass, Thanet way Whitsatable and Sustrans NCR1 at Faversham). The route takes you across some quiet areas of Romney Marsh - grt view from Warehorne through a dense wood to Shadoxhurst (less climbs than on Sustrans 11/18) and then using this route to reach Ashford, then to Westwell at the foot of the Downs - steep climb but beautiful landscape - in fact the whole route from here to Faversham goes through fantastic countryside. The Church just off Vicarage lane in Ospringe is of a type common in Northern France, through the town past the Shepherd Neame brewery. through some backstreets on the Sustrans route then along the creek off road to Graveney then along the coast to Whitstable. I head along Thanet way because I intend returning via Canterbury.
