| 1. One of the best introduction mountain-bike routes I've ever come across. There are no navigational issues. The surface is hard-core (land-rover track). In bad weather this route will be exposed. However, in good weather, this route is simply stunning: through the middle of a crazy geologic landscape (that Sutherland does so well!) formed by Moine Thrust. Great views of some iconic mountains: Ben Hope (most northerly Munro), Ben Klibreck, Ben More Assynt |

This route is remote: no shops, no mobile-phone coverage. The only habitation is Gobernuisgach Lodge. So take you packed lunch and enjoy it sitting by the Strathmore River!
