Cycle Steps
1. A nice 40 mile loop between the National Trust properties at Charlecote and Upton House taking in some villages along the way. Suitable for a quick dash for a fast rider or a day-out for a leisure group. There is a demanding climb at Sunrising hill just before Upton with nice new tarmac (2014). Road Riders get out of the saddle and sweat! Families or less fit groups may want to get off and push for the quarter-mile climb as lorries can come up the hill and there is very little space. For day trippers enjoy lunch and a rest at the NT property at Upton before returning to Charlecote. Park at NT Charlecote for daytrippers. Take a look around Charlecote before leaving for the 11 mile ride to Upton House. Leaving Upton it's another 30 miles back to Charlecote. The Car Park at Charlecote closes at 1730. Itineraey for slow groups (10mph with frequent short stops): 0900 - Charlecote House 1030 - Leave for Upton 1145 - Upton House 1300 - Leave for Charlecote 1700 - Arrive Charlecote carpark. Combine this with my other Warwickshire route for a two-day break. I recommend a stay overnight at the Charlecote Phesant Hotel for a trouble free two-day cycling break with no parking concerns!
