Located in Central Scotland, it is nicknamed the "Wee County". Formerly a large coal mining area, now it is popular in brewing and agricultural. In May of 2008 the Alloa Railway opened. With the thirteen villages there are still some interesting landmarks. Alloa Tower, the first and largest tower with the original roof still intact, Castle Campbell commonly called Castle Gloom and the Menstrie Castle that is now used as a hotel.
