Cycle Steps
Starting out from South Hylton Riverside, ride along to Offerton Lane (under the A19 bridge) and climb the steep bank for around 100m. Continue until the lane joins with the old railway line and go right under the A19.

Ride along the old railway line until it meets with Coxgreen Road then turn back on yourself onto the road. The turns right and climbs steeply. Stick with it until it meets with Foxcover Road, and turn right. When you come to the dual-carriageway, turn left onto Chester Road.

Stay on Chester Road until you pass The Grindon Mill Pub then turn right at the following roundabout, onto Springwell Road (dual-carriageway). Go through the lights at The Prospect junction and onto Premier Road.

Turn right off Premier Road onto the cycle path that runs through Silksworth leisure complex. Ride straight until you meet up with North Moor Road then turn right onto North Moor Lane. Turn right at the roundabout onto Durham Road.

Turn left off Durham Road onto Grindon Lane. Go right along Grindon Lane until it meets with The Broadway at The Grindon Mill. Turn left then right at the roundabout onto Pennywell Road. At the mini-roundabout turn right onto Portsmouth Road. At Hylton Road turn left then right at the roundabout onto Hylton Bank. Zoom down Hylton Bank all the way to the riverside.
