Cycle Steps
This is a circular route starting at the Strines Inn, Strines. From the carpark turn right and along for 2.5k. Take a left and then after 100m turn right at the 5 bar gate. From the gate take the grassy track uphill between widely spaced walls. Continue through 2 gates and follow the track downhill between a wall & trees towards Moscar Lodge. Take a left on the main track past Moscarr Cross Farm and go through two gates. At the fork, after the second gate, turn left and go uphill to a gate. When through the gate there is a beautiful 2.5km descent down a walled green road. This is a little rough at first, but becomes smoother for the final swoop down to the gate at the road. Turn left and 2nd right for an exciting 3km downhill run. Cross the river T-Junction with road. Turn left where it is signposted Midhopestones, Penistone and head uphill for 1km to a pair of cottages just out of woods. With no access to track on the left, continue steeply uphill until above Dale Dyke Dam. Immediately above the farm, take a left into grassy lane through 2 WM gates to T-Junction with farm track. Take a right on this to Hallfield House, then use the permissive Byway below the house. Follow walls and more gates through fields to Strines Res. Go straight ahead as the track becomes tarmac and climbs steeply up to join Strines Road. Turn left, round sharp bend to cross Strines Bridge before left hand hairpin. Carry on up the road for a steep climb to the Strines Inn and the starting point. This route taken from Goldeneye Peak District map ISBN 1/85965167 4 would recommend.

Forgot to mention that this route took me around 1hr 10 mins ride time which is more than was calculated by cycle route - perhaps I need to peddle a little faster?
