This is from memory and guranteed not to be 100% accurate. The bit around Woodmansterne is a maze and Im sure its wrong but whatever. The overall mileage is about right - circa 57miles. Our record is 2h40. Its not flat whatever anyone tells you. Ditchling is a killer. Whoever thought that this is a friendly route for 27000 well intended fundraisers has a saditstic streak. I love it though.

Rode it on 19th May 2012. We have given a high difficulty level as our normal ride is 40m with a couple of hills, once a week. Thoroughly enjoyed it, for the sense of achievement at the end. Started at Clapham Junction Station at 07:00 so we missed most of the early traffic, 6 hours of riding and a few stops. Walked up the Beacon!

Hi . This will be my 4th L2B on 17th June 2012 and its fantastic. What a great feeling it is when you ride though London and all the traffic is stopped for you. Also all the people supporting you on your journey down to Brighton. Remember its not a race and enjoy the pubs.... Cycled up the Beacon 3 times, will I make it 4? ;-)

Very hard work up the beacon but otherwise a great route for exploring the south downs with quiet roads and really beautiful views.
