Cycle Steps
This is a road route, mainly on A and B roads, with some hills and an exposed plateau.
Head out of Wotton, on the B4058, and up Rushmire Hill, after which its flat and fast all the way to Tetbury along the A4135. In Tetbury turn right at T junction, onto the A433, and head down the High St. Go across the roundabout onto the B4014 and follow this as it takes a sharp right into Silver Street. Continue to follow the B4014 as it forks left towards Malmesbury. On the outskirts of Malmesbury turn right off the B4014, into Tetbury Hill, and follow signs to town centre and Sherston. Take a right onto B4040, Bristol Street, and follow the B road out tthrough Sherston and on the A46 junction. The B4040 between Malmesbury and and the A46 takes you through a number of villages, and also onto the plateau, that can be windy. At the A46 you take a right turn onto the A46, and then a immediately take the left filter lane onto the A432. This takes you down the hill into Chipping Sodbury. At the large roundabout at the edge of Chipping Sodbury, take the third exit onto the B4060. Half way up Broad Street turn right into Wickwar Road, B4060. Follow the B4060 out past the quarry to Wickwar. Through Wickwar turn left onto the B4509, and follow this past the Churchend quarry. At the T junction turn right, onto the B4058/B4509, heading towards Charfield. At the crossroads, head straight across onto the B4058. Follow this down the hill into Charfield, and then it's just one more pull back into Wotton,
This takes me around 2.5 -3 hours.
