The 1st couple of times the creaking problem was just tweaked with their and then by just tightening crank allen bolts, The third time I went in it got booked in and properly stripped down and serviced or so I was told then a few months later the problem re occured to which I contacted Speicalized directly to which they adviced me to go and ask for a new bottom bracket under warranty this then caused a load of aggro because the shop didn't think I had the right to ask for this. Under sufference this was done under warranty! In total I think I went back 5 or 6 times in 12months! After 12month warranty expired I then got the problem back so took it to another smaller friendlier helpful shop and paid £50 for a new bottom bracket and peddles to which my prayers seemed to have been answered for quite a while. Now i've not done as many miles and also have a 2nd bike now as well but my problems have started again. I'm getting a really loud creak from my left side of bracket when I put a strong down peddle in!! If i'm just steady pedalling its a nice smooth ride but as soon as I put some heavy pressure on peddle it starts creaking. My question is what should I do next?? Back to Specialized uk,Back to original Shop or goto another shop and see if a third person can solve it? I really enjoy riding this bike and have done 2500 miles on it but this one problem has really put me off purchasing another spcialized bike. Any advice would be kindly recieved. Thanks matt |

That would suggest to me your problem lies there. You could try regreasing them yourself, bottom bracket type dependant, or go back to the 'friendly' bike shop and ask their advice. There are great sites devoted to the curse of bangs, squeaks, rattles and creaks if you look, try them too. Best of luck! |
