Im Dan. Been passed a link to this site through a mate of a mate of a relative of a colleague (!) I will add some routes soon enough - I hope you lot are open to offroad aswell as road rides.
Do a lot of cycling as a commuter, but also the odd trip out in the muddy stuff. Build bikes too so any technical questions head them my way and I'll help out.

Cheers

Dan

Hi Dan,

Welcome, thanks for joining. I think the muddy routes are the best, there is nothing more satisfying that getting completely caked in mud on a cycle.

It would be great if you could post some off road routes, as they are the harder ones to find.

Do you build wheels as well then? that was always tricky when I worked in a bike shop! usually threaded the spokes the wrong way.

Thanks

Alan

Can do wheels, yes, but don't have a proper stand etc at home so I tend to just buy them, considering how cheaply places like Merlin and Chain Reaction knock them out for. A lot of the GMBC rides are hard to describe in a few steps but I will add a few when I get time, and also will try to get more people on the site.

A mention on singletrackworld.com should help too.

Cheers

D

Yeah, it is sometimes quite hard to describe, but even if it's just how to get to a place where there is good single track, or the start of a good track would be nice.

I'll definately have a look on that site, see what I can do.

I used to get my wheels from Wheel Craft in Clachan of Campsie, I haven't had one break yet, which I suppose is a testement to Al's wheel building!!

Thanks again Dan, look forward to some posts.

Alan
