Mainz to Munich

Joined: 30 Jul 2008 Posts: 10 Bike: My Profile | I'm slowly following the inland shipping route across Europe from the North sea to Istanbul. I'm currently at Mainz about to turn off the Rhine to follow the R Mainz to the Danube. Has anyone done it? Any camping sites please? Many thanks. |

Joined: 18 Apr 2011 Posts: 1 Bike: | Hi, Did similar last summer - but stayed on Rhine down to Mannheim then followed the Nekkar up to Villingen (which is only about 20k from Donaueschingen, the source of the Danube. It's a lovely route with plenty campsites en route. Hope this is of help Cheers, John |

I reached the Danube twwo years ago on a two-week summer break so now I'm looking to cycle the whole length, probably over the next two years. The internet had revolutionised route planning but that's not always possible while on the road. Peter |
