Route 7 to Consett was relatively sheltered and as I did not fancy the famous Waskerley headwind I went a safer north east to the reservoir via Shotley Bridge. The return wind was always going to be a road treat and I had my fastest average for long ride in many a year. I'm out Sunday and maybe even Saturday too so may join you unless I have had too big a Saturday. WFCG looks a bit too short even with 20 miles to/fro the meet point. I wonder if Dave is up for it?
