Our family from Vienna will spend 6-7 weeks in Enland from early July until late-August. We are coming over by car and take our bikes along. Our plan is to drive at the south coast, go north at the west coast, cross over to the east and go south again. We'll do everything by car, but park it here and then for a couple of days and do bike-rides in between.
Our children are 10 (daugther) and 12 (son). They would love to cycle together with other children, because that is definitely more fun at that age. The amount of miles is not very important, though they are capable to do very long distances. It is the adventure, that counts. We would like to explore the country.
We are planning to do some one- or more-day cycling-trips and are open to all ideas and places in England. We are rather budget-travellers and try to avoid expensive hotels and restaurants. We are fine with campsites and hostels and love picknicks.
Is there anyone
- who knows really nice routes, that are esp. interesting for children?
- who would like to join us on one of the trips?
- who has already done the Hadrian's Wall?
We cycled the H 2 H ( hadrians wall cycleway ) in october 2013 from Bowness on Solway to the roman fort ( ARBEIA ) at South Shields . It took 3 days and enjoyed every single minute .
If you are a budget traveller then go for bunkbarns or youth hostels which are the cheapest options .
For much more info see here http://www.cycle-routes.org/hadrianscycleway/
Just a bit more information for you .....the first night we stayed at Hillside Farm , Boustead Hill near Burgh by Sands { a bit basic but everything you need such as showers ,bike repair tools, cooking facilities and 12 bunk beds ) This is a working farm and the lady is lovely , she even allowed us to leave our car on the farm for 4 days whilst we cycled the H 2 H route . We cycled , as i said previously , to the roman fort at South Shields and then cycled back to Newcastle where we caught the train back to Carlisle then cycled back to Hillside Farm >( limited space for bikes on the train , but there were 6 cycle spaces on the train we caught and bikes travel free ) .
It was not school holidays when we were there so i cannot say if many children cycle this route , but with reasonable weather and a steady pace it is not a difficult route .
there is lots to see on canal and it is flat have a nice holiday

A cycle route and deflections implied for the sanity for the blocks. The rush of the plot and professional custom essay writing service is ensured for the elements. The consumption is increased for the turns for advancement. Pat is fit for the tips for humans.
