Hi Andy, got back from my coast to coast yesterday, and i loved it, the weather was fantastic, we even did manage to cycle the 30 miles back from Sunderland afterwards. If you like I will email you with some details of my route and any questions you might have. mr.mole@hotmail.co.uk

Hi Sorry didn't get involved with the cycle ride really pleased that there are other people who want to meet up and cycle in the area. I'd like to meet up with the group I'm over 40 and ride at my own pace normally ride from wingate to Hartlepool or Thorpe Thewles I'm not a snail though but only get out every other week.
Please let me know if you are all going out by email.

Hi Sorry I haven't been on cycle route to see if there were anymore replies. Haven't received any emails from cycle route.
It's really good to hear that there are other people wanting to meet up and cycle.
Can I just say I'm over 40 and do cycle at my own pace but I'm not a snail normally cycle every other week from Wingate to Hartlepool or to Thorpe Thewles. Cycled the other weekend from Hounds Gill Waskerly Way to the little cafe at the top good job it was all downhill on the way back.
Please let me know if you are going out to cycle and I'll meet up if you think I can keep up.
Have emailed Aly but no reply.

Hello. I met up with the others and we had a wet mucky ride down to thorpe thewles... We seemed to get on quite well but split up without any other arrangements (it was'nt the weather to hang about). I think the boy's...Andy and Mal are doing the c2c shortly and i recieved an email from Aly saying that she was away this nxt week but would contact the group through the cycle forum when she got back..I will not be out for a couple of weeks as i need a minor opp but should'nt be out of action too long... Hope that you manage to meet up with the little group.. They seem a nice bunch...PS I wouldnt worry about being 40 I'm 54 and we just went easy..:-)

Hi there, I have been reading your Forum and looks as though it's exactly what I'm looking for. My wife rides with me occasionally but I am looking for something more challenging.( no disrespect to her) I ride a road bike (Paganini) and mountain bike (Ridgeback)but am enjoying being on the Mountain bike at the mo. I would love to join anyone who is interested for a ride next weekend.I can travel by car to meet, so starting point not a problem. ( I live in Sunderland).Look forward to hearing from anyone interested. PS I'm 50 (just) but consider myself reasonably fit ish :-),, so like the idea of going at a steady pace!

Im out Sunday Morning this week if anyone is interested. Currently gonna be out on my own as my usual ride buddy is off elsewhere. Planning on cycling part of the walney to wear route. Starting from near Doxford Park in Sunderland. The route takes you up through Durham and is quite a pleasent route.

The Big bike ride is on Sunday so if you using the Lanchester Railway path into Durham expect it to be busy in the morning. Cant decide if to do the ride myself yet

I'm following the better weather so will be up to Amble tomorrow rather my initially intended southern destination.

It's a comparatively easy 80 miles. There is also an easy 100 mile loop to Alnwick and Boulmer if anyone fancies the big one.
