All you need to look at on a map is the edge of portsmouth, and you'll pretty much find the route. I start at the top of the eastern road, follow the bike path down to the bottom, go down to milton and then left towards eastney. Right along the seafront from the eastney swimming baths right up to clarence pier, then left at a little round about(not the one next to the pier, the next one up) towards old portsmouth. If you go straight across the crossroads, opposite the cathedral, and go past the IOW ferry. go left towards the hard and follow the path up queen street. The marked cycle paths then take you all the way up to hilsea and cosham. Go from Cosham to Farlington, and you're back to the start. It's a great easy ride if you don't feel like doing too much. Easy to vary as well as sometimes when I get to cosham, I go up to the top of the hill, via QA hospital, ride along the top and have a great downhill blast to bedhampton. Then follow the cycle path via farlington marshes back to the start. Plenty of pubs and places to stop on the way. |
