Brilliant ride!

Set off at 7am through the light to heavy rain - 5 minutes in, some riders were flying back from the Blackpool with that smug grin – good on them, wish I was up to their level. Yeah, top run! Managed to get 3 hours 45 minutes, well chuffed with that being my first ride out there! The only times I stopped were at the dangerous junctions for red lights (not the other red lights tut tut tut, but it were very early on in the morning) and THAT really short, but pretty steep hill about 30 miles in (you know the one), my legs were getting jellified just before it, standing cycling 3/4’s the way up, then into the lowest gear only for a car to throw my momentum off and had to stop! wasn’t happy, had to walk across the road something in-between like Chris Hoy and John-flippin-Wayne lol.

First 50 miles was relatively easy, but the last 10 with that wind were enduring but very enjoyable too. In the last 10 miles all I was looking forward to was a Bacon muffin (not barm lol) and a cool tin of Coke, top notch! Couldn’t handle a beer after that tbh. Yeah happy days! Just chilling around the beer tents, and the cross line for 6 hours. My mates misses phoned him up to pick her up (45 miles in), she done fantastic considering there were no training involved though.

Every single rider I came across were brilliant - hats off to you all!

Ultimately a top day out for raising much needed money for charities!

Really hope the fella who got rushed away in the ambulance is okay too? Didn't get to hear how he were?

Roll on the 100k ....
