Joined: 03 Jul 2010 Posts: 6 Bike: | Well , Manchester - Blackpool done today, just missed out on the magical 4 hours by 10 minutes. The forecast rain held off til after I had finished. Started off with the usual melee leaving Old Trafford and began to thin out by Worsley. few scary moments out of Worsley with some poor riding by people at least five abreast blocking traffic from overtaking riders. Please folks, it costs nothing to consider other road users, and maybe just maybe if we got our house in order, then perhaps others would respect us a little more. People jumping red lights does us no favours. Rant over. Got into some good groups with a really good tail wind to Preston, then the turn into the wind along the edge of the Ribble to Lytham. Sand blowing across the Road at St Annes, then turn to a fantastic tail wind finish by the mirror ball at South Shore. Hope that the accident I think near Wharton was not as bar as it seemed when we went past and that the rider is OK. |
