It does not matter the size of the route i am just happy to do a bit riding i travel all round the country by car and i take my bike with me, so all areas would be fine. kind regards wayne |

Many country parks permit cycling, check out sustrans for routes all over the country, and lastly, Morayshire, north east Scotland, has some great forested areas, Roseisle near Burghead, Culbin near Nairn and others around Elgin have plenty of bikeable trails and are reasonably flat. The Forestry Commission produce leaflets covering access and trails. Contact bike shops/clubs wherever you are planning to go, they are usually more than willing to pass on info on off-road options in their areas. Good luck, Tonycar |

They charge for the carpark but it's well worth a visit. We went on the difficult trail all the way around but there are a few different routes to take. Apart from a couple of really steep sections we didn't struggle too much. You can hire bikes from a shop near the carpark too. I seem to remember it costing £9 per hour for the bikes and it took us 2 hours to get round at a reasonable pace. If I find anymore off road havens I'll post on here enjoy! |

There are different intensity rides (some quite hardcore downhill tracks), but you can find some pretty flat tracks through trees and things. If you catch it on a nice day, pretty nice ride out! Failing that, i have started doing a lot of weekend riding on canals and abandoned railway tracks. There are some good ones in the West Mids! Cheers Jim |
