But, it continues 6 miles further to Bodmin & 6 miles (ish) past THAT to Wenford Bridge. While the Camel estuary bit is the most "picture postcard" the rest is a lovely ride & far less busy, as loads of people just do the 1st 6 miles, then back to "PadStein" for chish 'n fips :-) The Wenford Bridge stretch is, IMHO, the best of all; and QUIET. The whole thing is, of course, hozirontal :-) But, if you crave contours, leave the family to enjoy a picnic at Grogley Halt SX 0148 6856 and nip up the (very minor) road to Great Grogley Woods SX 0148 6776: Take the forest track and explore the single-tracks and a spot of downhill. While the family enjoy their picnic, explore the woods and you'll find some interesting trails. Pete |

The Lanhydrock bike hub is under construction: Should be a pleasant 6 mile wander through the woods when it's completed - next spring, I believe. That's just t'other side of the A391 from Cardinham Woods (which are nowhere near Cardinham, btw :o) |

Bodmin to Wenford another cup of coffee ) and back to Wadebridge. As this was our first time we were not sure how far we had cycled until we got back to the cycle hire and were told we had cycled about 35 miles. |

There is now an official Mountainbike Downhill trail there - Looks good, but I kept to the forestry track as I was on the hardtail road/trail bike & the bottom bit where it crosses the track looked "interesting". I'l have to take the bouncer next time & have a cautious go at it. |

Aimed at famulies & beginners, according to the blurb; there's qctually something for everyone. The green (Lodge) route is great for a family ride & suitable for trail buggies without being boring & the blue routes vary from quite easy-going to proper brake-pad warmers: The tight turns are well banked & the surface is good all-weather hardpack, mostly :o) There's bike hire, cafe & kids' play area: Oh, & the Skills section is Interesting.
