Thanks for that I've driven the route your talking about an a car and van a few times from recollection the north of Spain is quite hilly and some of Madrid I'm going to ask some friends who accompanied me. Ther recollection too I have been to alicante Murcia and Malaga many times from Cheshire but used different routes sometimes through France otherwise ferry from both Santander and Bilbao.

Great charity your raising for. Are charity will be help for heros. Have you done many other tours? I'm a beginner I've never been in the forces I'm joining the tour with a friend who has recently left the army after approx 18 yrs. I'm generally fit and well but haven't attempted anything like this before. Any advice is much appreciated I'm doing my regular gym workouts Monday to Friday. I generally do some wights or weight circuits nothing to intense 30 mins or so then finish on a treadmill run for about 30/40 mins covering beet tween 5/10 kilometres. My worry is fitness I'm riding with soldiers and ex soldiers. We don't have a strategy as yet we have the ride penciled in for sept oct.any training tips. I'm gonna change my runs for some spinning classes and try ridin 20/30 miles two or three times a week. Is this enough?

I have only been back on a bike for a year. I did a sixty mile charity ride last year in the pouring rain up and down some very steep hills. I tend to do a flattish 20-30 mile ride once a week and a 16-20 mile hilly ride a couple of times a week. Ius either a ten year old mountain bike or my trek road bike. I have found using the strava app on my iPhone helps with motivation.
