Hi

My chain was slipping (stays in same gear just slips) when pushing hard on crank. I replaced my sprocket and chain but now it still slips under pressure. Also although every cog can be found by changing gears it just doesn't sound right.

Anyone help?

I have heard of this when the wrong chain has been fitted i.e. Where say it is a 9 speed bike but got fitted a seven speed chain.

First check that the chain is correct pitch as post above suggest .then check new casset is fitted correctly on wheel and tight check no wear on front chain ring as well then test bike on work stand make sure each gear selected the chain sits correctly on the sprocket. also check tension on cables on gear mech.. if still problems head for the bike shop.

Hi
Had the same feeling, but it was easily sorted by adjusting the gear cable tension slightly.

Thanks all. Will start at the beginning (and probably end up at the shop...)

If you didn't change your chainring/s at the same time it could be that........

Interesting. Chain slipping is now much better but still slips with middle chain ring and about middle sprocket. Annoying as this is the gear i would prefer to use to push up a hill. Will look at chain ring next

Hi that ring may be worn more than the others as you say you use it more.
If it is worn you see the teethh looking like shark fins.

Good luck.
