Creaking Crank

Joined: 08 Mar 2011 Posts: 2 Bike: | Hi I have a specialized Hardrock MB with a creaking crank, its about 3/4 yrs old, can it be re-greased or do i need a new crank? and if so, how much approx? Thanks |

 Joined: 25 Feb 2010 Posts: 372 Bike: My Profile | Hi Take it to a bike shop. It could be terminal and should get sorted sooner rather than later. It could be loose and end up grind the threads and killing your frame. Alternatively on the non-scare mongering mode it could just be a creak (like my bike). Bike mechanics have been unable to find the cause or fix my creak with tons of lube and refitting BB and cranks. They have put it down to an ali frame and "dunno". At least that puts your mind at ease. Keep pedaling (err creaking) Buster. |
