The route up to here is described here: http://www.cycle-route.com/routes/Liverpool_Loop_Line-Cycle-Route-69.html The followng describes how to get to the loop line to Ainsdale: You then cycle down Warbreck Moore, which changes to Ormskirk Road, and past Aintree racecourse, which is on your right. When you reach the old nightclub "The Paradox" you will come to a bridge over a canal. On that bridge there is a set of stairs onto the canal path. Go down onto the canal path and cycle in the opposite direction to the bridge you just came off. Cycle about a mile until you are led onto a road by a swing bridge. Turn right (Aldrins Lane) and when you reach the end of this road you come to the Northern Perimeter Road. There is a pedestrian crossing. Cross the main road here and go down the lane just on your left of the crossing. Follow the lane until you come to a bridge over a stream/ river. Go sraight on up the hill. At the top of the hill there is a junction in the track, bear right at about 1 O' clock (Don't turn at right angles here!) Go down a slight hill and turn left at the bottom. This leads you into a cul de sac. Go the the end of the cul de sac and turn left. Go straight to the end of the road and cross the main road by the pedestrian crossing and. If you turn right off the crossing (you can walk straight ahead) you will come to a road on your left just a few feet on. Go down this road. Keep to the left and onto the pavement. This leads to the beginning of the track track to Ainsdale. It took me a while to find this link. It is all self explanatory after the above. Hope this helps |
