London Bridge to Kingston - avoiding the A3!

I've driven the route a few times and there's a bit of the A3 (North of Wimbledon/Roehampton) that looks a bit scary for cyclists. Has anyone done this regularly? Is it better than it looks? Or should I divert down Wimbledon Park Side (A219) and then come into Kingston on the A238. I think that would add at least 3 miles to the route which is pushing my commute time out quite a bit. Any thoughts? |
