It is fine for nipping around town, but the 8 speeds and wheel thickness make long haul rides very slow. I am looking to get in to cycling and to join in with events, however i am going to need a road/racer bike. I have a budget of £600.... can anybody suggest one to me? |

Not much between the Specialized and Treks really, they have pretty much the same components so it would be down to style, feel and comfort...you wouldnt go wrong with either. I wont waffle on in too much details between the two and risk sending you to sleep (i'll let the fellas in the shop do that)...all I would say is that for the money, I would be happy with either (although i do ride a trek road bike, but then i have a specialized mountain bike!)... Let us know what you do go for and remember there are plently of bike out there so try as many as you can!! (Scott and Fuji are another that spring to mind). if you do feel a bit swamped with choice and want an independant view (away from the shop) then just let us know! Good luck and happy shopping! Rob |
